Welcome to the home of Starene Poodles. We hope you join us in our enthusiasm for all animals, and in particular, of all dogs of all breeds and none, but especially of the Poodle, a noble and elegant friend!
We are pet owners first and dog exhibitors second; which is just as well as we share our home with our show stars as well as some elderly, some disabled and some rescue dogs; all poodles except for one....our rescue Shih Tzu named Odie.
Our affix, Starene, was the affectionate name of our most successful show dog to date, Star! Who not only showed the world how great Shih Tzu's are, but was the most wonderful companion to us both. Star went to Rainbow Bridge on 20th March, 2006 aged 16 years and 7 months. Our affix 'Starene' is an homage to her.
Star, of course, loved poodles. In particular, our white neuter boy, Tao. You'll meet all the dogs as you browse the web site. Have fun.
Oh, and if you want to know anything about keeping poodles, or dogs per se, then if you don't find what you're looking for on the following pages, please contact us. We're only too pleased to help.

For Your Information:
If you're looking for puppies, we rarely have litters but we now have a litter. Puppies go to approved homes only. Home checks are carried out irrespective of how far we have to travel to do so. All puppies come with a contract which insists that in the event of the new owner being unable to keep the dog for whatever reason, he or she must be returned to us. We of course offer reasonable reparation. We want to make absolutely sure that no dog we breed ever ends up neglected or in a dog home or, God forbid, a victim of the executions routinely taking place in dog shelters throughout the country.
We retain the right to refuse to sell any of our puppies. We have in the past refused to sell puppies; if we feel someone is not suitable to own one of our dogs, or indeed any dog, then we tell people so in no uncertain terms.
A little note about our logo.
In order of size, Julie, Lauren and Kate (smallest) were born by caesarean section on 30th August 2007. The lovely Sarah, veterinary nurse at Hawick Vets, who helped to deliver our girls took the picture you see on her mobile phone. The puppies weren't deliberately placed that way, they just somehow ended up in line and Sarah couldn't resist the Awwwwwwww factor! Thanks to all at Hawick Vets who help to care for our crowd. And thanks to Vanessa, another of the nurses for being brave enough to doggy sit for us from time to time!
